Meet Stacey
My name is Stacey, and I am an endorsed Clinical Psychologist and Board Approved Supervisor with over 11 years of clinical experience.
I always wanted a career where I could help people and I find it such a privilege to be able to support individuals and families, often at a vulnerable time in their lives.
I studied psychology straight out of high school, completing a Bachelor of Psychology (First Class Honours) at Flinders University in Adelaide. I took a break from study and worked with survivors of sexual assault, before relocating to Brisbane. I completed a Master of Clinical Psychology at The University of Queensland.
I spent the first 10 years of my career working within public mental health services here in Brisbane. I have extensive experience working within community multidisciplinary teams supporting young people and their families with complex mental health difficulties. Most recently, I was involved in a statewide project improving the use of clinical formulations for Child & Youth Mental Health Teams across Queensland.
Two years ago I started my own solo-operated private practice due to my love of psychotherapy. It is truly rewarding to make a meaningful difference in my clients lives.
Within my private practice, I work with adolescents (13+) and adults experiencing a variety of mental health concerns. My areas of interest include Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Low Mood, Perfectionism, Adjustment difficulties, as well as Resilience and Self-Esteem building.
The therapeutic models that I primarily draw from are Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. Whilst I am trained in a range of evidence-based treatments, I always consider your strengths and goals, so that together we can decide which may be the best approach for you.
Please note that Stacey does not accept referrals for eating disorder presentations or couple’s therapy.
